Bath Bombs!!! (and more!)

Well once again this blog is being updated much later than expected - I guess that I won't be winning any blogger of the year awards soon... Better late than never! The last blog post was back in November, so there's lots to catch up on. Here we go!

Christmas was a busy period for us. We had lots of online orders which was fantastic and many of those orders were from repeat customers. Our stock levels were pretty much spot on for the festive period, with only a few of each soap leftover at the end of the year. However, silly old me did not take into account the fact that people would still want soap in January! This meant we had to miss some of the early 2018 markets. Other stallholders did say that these markets are usually quieter, which makes sense so soon after Christmas. The food traders still attended the markets, since their business is not so seasonal and people always gotta eat! It was also nice to have a break from the markets - I love doing them, but I'm not one for early mornings I must admit...

The start of this year seems to have passed by very quickly. It's mostly been taken over by work surrounding our new bath bombs! We're so so excited to introduce them and think that they're going to be very popular with our customers. They've been on sale for a couple of weeks now and it's great to see that they have already gathered a lot of interest and the feedback on them has been amazing!

Admittedly, there were a lot of initial problems with making the bath bombs. The process of making them is actually quite quick and seems very simple. The issue is that they're very sensitive to moisture and are prone to falling apart if they're too dry or too wet. It took a lot longer than expected to really find the right consistency with them; we had lots of wasted batches. But, the good news is that once you find that right level of moisture with the bath bombs, it's quite an easy thing to reproduce. So, now our batches are much more successful and it's rare that the bombs will fall apart.

The last thing that I would like to touch on is that our Facebook page recently hit 1000 likes! This is a huge milestone for me personally. To see something that started out as a random little project of mine transform into a (semi) recognisable brand is wonderful. The business has been going for a little over a year now, but it feels like a big part of my life.

So what's next? Gift boxes for the bath bombs! I think that it's something people would love. I'll keep ya updated on them!

Thanks for reading :)
