More Gift Boxes and New Shampoo Bars?

With the recent introduction of our new natural bath bombs, I've been working hard to find a suitable way to offer them in a gift box. Finding the right style of boxes which suit the aesthetic of the Soapbox is harder than it sounds - they need to be at feasible prices too! After some thorough searching, I came across some beautiful boxes sold by The Tiny Box Company, who are great when it comes to natural and eco-friendly packaging. The boxes are the perfect dimensions to fit six bath bombs, which are nestled in natural raffia. The boxes are then tied shut with cotton ribbon.

I'm more than happy with how they look (and smell!) and I think that anyone would be really pleased with receiving one as a gift. I'm still deciding on a price for the boxes - I want to make sure I get it right so they're affordable for both myself and the customer. They should be available on the website very soon.

Next, I've recently received a few emails from customers asking about shampoo bars. It's become apparent that customers would love to shop local when it comes to their skincare. I had a really nice email from a man who buys shampoo bars online but would love to have a local option which effectively takes care of his hair. I've been researching shampoo bars recently and I think that they're great! They're made similarly to regular soap bars, but contain oils that are specifically chosen for their hair-care properties. I've devised a recipe which contains all the best oils and ingredients for the hair; coconut oil, argan oil, avocado oil, ground coffee (for caffeine), castor oil and rosemary essential oil. I'm very excited to begin making these and will be thoroughly testing them myself before planning to have them assessed.

You've probably seen caffeine shampoo advertised over the past year or so - it's really popular! Caffeine really stimulates your scalp and promotes hair growth. As someone who is constantly petrified of all his hair falling out, I'm looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about.

Lastly, I want to mention soap dishes! I've had it mentioned to me a couple of times now that it would be a good idea to start selling soap dishes as an option with my soaps, as a kind of starter pack. It's important to have a proper soap dish which will prevent the soap from sitting in water. This allows the soap to dry out and last longer. I want to hear from you. Do you think it would be a good idea to have soap dishes available to buy which fit the shape of our soaps?

As many of you know, I do not run this business full time. I'm starting a new job on Tuesday so things may be a little rocky at first balancing the business with work. So, please forgive me if certain things take a little longer than usual! I'm only human!

Thanks for reading.
